The Abuse of Women has to stop!

Published by redflowers2001 at 1:03 pm under Justice, Politics Edit This

This isn’t a discussion about Chris Brown and Rihanna, although their situation is troublesome, it’s about women around the world. The most disturbing part, to me, about the abuse of women is how widely accepted it is. Some of our allies are abusers of women and we turn a blind eye to it—Saudi Arabia. Women are treated as property and punished for not behaving like they are told. They cover themselves from head to toe to keep their sexuality hidden. They are not allowed to vote, hold a job, be in public alone and several other freedoms us American women take for granted.

In Darfur, women and young girls are raped by the military as a form of genocide. Yes, genocide. The government backed Janjaweed militia knows that if women have sex with a man other than their husband than they are ostracize by their family. Their husbands will abandon them and their families will turn their backs on them. Can you imagine being 10 years old, raped and abandoned by your family because you were raped?

Fathers are “selling” their daughters to marriage at younger and younger ages. Just recently in Saudi Arabia, a girl was married at age 8 to a 47 year old man to settle her father’s debt to the man. Her mother tried desperately to have the marriage annulled, but was denied because she was not the legal guardian. Huh? The husband pledged not to have sex with her until she hit puberty. What?! That’s still too young.

The practice of genital mutilation is still prevalent in these areas, too. The practice, in most instances, is done as a ritual to girls when they “come of age” by other women—mothers, sisters, aunts and witchdoctors. There is no anesthesia and the instruments are most likely not sterile. The World Health Organization estimates 100-140 million women have had this done to them with the risk of 3 million African girls annually. The two books I read about women who talked openly about their experiences with genital mutilation were Dessert Flower and Princess: a True Story of Life behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia. In her book, Dessert Flower, Waris Dirie describes in graphic detail how her mutilation was performed in a hut with rusty instruments. She was left to recover wrapped in soiled bandages. Her mutilation was so extreme that she suffered tremendous amount of pain during her menstrual cycles and eventually sought out a doctor who performed reconstructive surgery. In Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia, the author describes the rituals as a celebration—right of passage—that is performed by other women and witnessed by the women in the family. Sometimes, the girl’s mother will hold her down during the “surgery.”

Something has got to happen to stop these and other abuses to women! We have got to stop accepting this. These poor women accept this as their fate and that is not right. Our Suffragette sisters fought for our rights in the United States and it’s time for us to fight for all women!!!!

I completely agree it has to stop! And because this is such a tender subject and I am male talking about it. It is when a husband gives his wife hard-love he is put to he test. Now what I mean by hard-love is to simply hold his wife accountable for her actions in the present time with the only complaint that she should ever have is “this is hard, and I’m not used to it” Or “be gentle on me” Yes! sweetheart, you can rely on the person you said “I do ” to.

All of it is true! And it is the good men that try there best to love, be compassionate, and have them become dependent on them for that protection. Rather than the scorned independent woman that’s hard to trust. The men has to give space, and the woman has to realize he is the real thing in time. Only time heals, and the right people fighting for the cause.

For the real men that are afflicted by those, and loose more than they can imagine. By those actions from the pigs of America who taken women for real advantage, and abuse it.

Life is hard, but love should help make things better. And it is the good man’s responsibility as the corner stone of a family/relationship to lavish that woman, and family! and protect at the same time. Without complaint! I loved that part. And I’m not saying that Chris Brown did anything right or wrong, but must be a man! and stand up for what he believes in, other than hiding and having people believe otherwise. He’s so far being a coward!
